Write for us
Urban Civic Review welcomes pitches that make urban civic life easier to understand. We are interested in clear, original work about public spaces, city services, civic processes, neighbourhoods and meaningful ways to follow or take part.
What to propose
Send a focused idea with a working title, the central question, the intended reader and a short account of what the piece would explain. Strong pitches have a distinct angle, a clear scope and practical reader value without depending on unsupported claims or access to confidential information.
Good editorial fit
We welcome explainers, comparisons, civic process overviews and thoughtful accounts of how shared urban places work. Keep the language plain, distinguish general patterns from local variation and avoid presenting professional, legal or political advice as universal guidance.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial enquiry option. Include enough detail for us to assess the proposal, but do not send unpublished confidential material or assume that a pitch has been accepted until we respond.
A city works best when its public life is legible.
We look beyond civic jargon to the places, processes and choices that residents can observe and discuss. Clear explanations make room for informed curiosity, not one-size-fits-all answers.
