Editorial policy
Urban Civic Review aims to make civic subjects understandable, accurate and fair. We separate explanation from opinion, make uncertainty visible and treat readers as people capable of weighing context for themselves.
Accuracy and context
We check claims against the material available to us and take care with names, dates, definitions and descriptions of processes. Articles should make clear what is established, what is interpretation and what remains uncertain. Because procedures vary between places, we avoid presenting a local detail as a universal rule.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to favour a political party, public body or commercial interest. If a material error is identified, we assess it promptly and correct the relevant wording with appropriate clarity. Readers may send corrections through the Contact page.
Partnership material
Paid or partner material is labelled clearly where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee editorial coverage, and partners do not approve independent articles.
Images and illustrations
Images are selected to support the subject and are not presented as documentary evidence when they are illustrative. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; where relevant, that use is identified in the accompanying presentation.
A city works best when its public life is legible.
We look beyond civic jargon to the places, processes and choices that residents can observe and discuss. Clear explanations make room for informed curiosity, not one-size-fits-all answers.
